A History with a Vision
Kernodle Clinic first opened its doors in 1949 when three graduates of Duke University saw their vision of a single clinical operation become a reality. Dr. Harold B. Kernodle Sr., his brother Dr. Charles E. Kernodle, Jr., both surgeons, and their cousin Dr. John Robert Kernodle, an obstetrician gynecologist, joined their practices to form Kernodle Clinic. Kernodle Clinic was heralded as one of the most modern and best-equipped facilities of its kind in the south. Today, Kernodle Clinic maintains that reputation for innovation and quality medical care. Our goal is to provide prompt, appropriate, quality medical care and to serve as a referral center with full diagnostic and treatment facilities. Kernodle Clinic is a multi-specialty group practice with more than 95 medical providers in 18 areas of specialty – the only such practice serving the Burlington / Alamance County area. Kernodle Clinic is part of the Duke Health Network, the physician practice of Duke Health. All providers follow the quality and safety guidelines set by Duke Health.
Patient Stories
“We have been seeing the Pediatric doctors there for the past 11 years and have been very pleased. The doctors are always willing to listen and answer questions. Nurses and lab workers are fantastic as well!”
“My experiences with the medical staff & physicians have been great and I have zero tolerance for a medical practice that doesn’t function. And the staff have always been kind and efficient and compassionate. I moved to this practice after horrible experiences elsewhere. Don’t plan on ever leaving.”
“I went to the clinic after suffering from trigger finger for nearly a year. One shot in the hand and and a day later the condition was gone. Great doctors, highly trained and great bedside manner. I’d recommend them to anyone with orthopedic issues.”
